We believe that it is possible for the Contractors in the Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) industry to grow sustainably - balancing the benefits of providing optimum working and living conditions with the social and environmental costs.
Our core values are to attempt to provide the most commercially expedient solution for our customers using the most responsible approach - 'no-one tries harder for customers' and 'treat people how we like to be treated' characterise our approach to Corporate Responsibility. We believe we can achieve most when we work together on practical things that make a difference. 'Every little helps' can become a great deal when everyone pulls in the same direction.
Corporate responsibility means taking account of social and environmental issues in the way we operate. Our business is reliant upon a healthy environment. Each day we support equipment that uses millions of Kilowatts of energy from the environment to provide a better environment for our customers. We have to work to the legislative regulations for the industry but we go further by only installing energy efficient equipment listed on the ETL and Carbon Trust approved. By managing our business responsibly we contribute to sustainable development. This means making sure that the way we do business today meets the needs of our customers and other stakeholders and will enable us to continue to do so far into the future.
Employees
Across our business, we aim to create conditions that attract and retain high quality people – and make sure they perform at their best. We look to create a high quality organisation where people and values are respected, team working and personal development is encouraged and there are genuine equal opportunities. It is important for our employees to be kept fully informed about what is going on inside the company and for us to understand staff views.
Suppliers
Our supply chain is made up of a complex range of relationships - from individual engineers and specialist manufacturers and distributors. Our selection and partnership approach benefits our suppliers by giving them a certain and growing market for their products, services, regular payments and payments on time, and our commitment to sharing our understanding of customers and changing consumer behaviour. We think this is the responsible way to help manage significant change in the industry at the same time as reducing costs and maintaining quality for our customers.
Climate
There is now an overwhelming scientific consensus that climate change is happening. Scientists tell us that man-made emissions of greenhouse gases are a key factor and that urgent action by governments, businesses and individuals is needed to combat it. This means there needs to be less reliance on fossil fuel and that we must nurture the idea of a low-carbon society.
As a result, many customers now want to play their part. We play our part by only promoting the most energy-efficient equipment and demonstrating carbon footprint impact of equipment. This and our compliance to industry standards for maintenance, the proper disposal of refrigerant gases and the proper maintenance of equipment, will reduce energy demand and reduce the escape of ozone damaging refrigerant gases.
Team is at the front working to tackle these barriers so that we can help deliver a revolution in green consumption - with the fight against climate change at the very heart of it. We also want to set an example by reducing CO2 emissions in our business.
Our approach
We recognise that we need to do more than list a series of environmentally-friendly actions, although those do play their part. We are changing our business model so that the reduction of our carbon footprint becomes an important business driver. We have a comprehensive plan that has three key objectives:-
Helping our customers by making green choices easier and more affordable;
Setting an example by measuring carbon footprints and CO2emissions;
Partnering with manufacturers that develop new low-carbon technology throughout the supply chain. |
